The new HP Color LaserJet printers for businesses have been announced. Models in Color LaserJet 4200/4300, Enterprise 5000/6000, and X500/X600 series use TerraJet Toner, using less plastic packaging while providing 20% more printable colors. Other features on the higher-end models include the ability to markup documents without a PC.

HP has announced the Color LaserJet 4200/4300, LaserJet Enterprise 5000/6000 and X500/X600 series, designed for businesses of various sizes. The devices use the brand’s new TerraJet toner, which HP claims reduces energy use by up to 27% and uses 78% less plastic packaging than predecessors while increasing printable colors by 20%.

The LaserJet 4200/4300 follows in the footsteps of the LaserJet Pro series, designed for smaller offices. The gadgets provide two-sided color printing and scanning, and the HP Smart Admin Dashboard can control several printers from a central point. Compared to older models, the new printers can print up to 25% faster. The company describes the models as compact, though it has yet to provide exact measurements. Plus, HP Wolf Security tools, which help reduce misprinting larger batches, are included with and preconfigured for all new models.

The 5000/6000 and X500/X600 models were also unveiled at the HP Amplify Partner Conference in the US, designed for larger businesses. Features of the devices include the ability to redact and markup a document without a PC instead of using controls on the printer. The HP Color LaserJet 4200/4300 printers will launch in the US this summer at prices up to US$700. The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise 5000/6000 and X500/X600 models are already available in North America, starting from US$1,050.
