HP EliteBook 735 G6 and 745 G6 coming with 2nd generation Ryzen 7 Pro 3700U options
HP has updated last year's 13.3-inch EliteBook 735 G5 and 14-inch EliteBook 745 G5 to the new EliteBook 735 G6 and EliteBook 745 G6, respectively. The new G6 SKUs carry second generation AMD Ryzen Pro processors compared to the first generation Ryzen processors on the G5 SKUs. In other words, CPU options have been updated from the Ryzen 3 2300U, Ryzen 5 2500U, and Ryzen 7 2700U to the faster Ryzen 3 3300U, Ryzen 5 3500U, and Ryzen 7 3700U, respectively.
Aside from the above processor changes, the G6 series will carry the exact same chassis as the G5 series for a visually identical experience. We highly recommend checking out our existing reviews on the EliteBook 735 G5 and 745 G5 as a result since many of our comments apply directly to the new G6 SKUs as well. The EliteBook 735 and EliteBook 745 are the AMD versions of the Intel-based EliteBook 830 and EliteBook 840, respectively. HP Sure Sense, Sure View Gen3, Sure Start, Sure Click, and camera shutter privacy features will all come standard.
The EliteBook 735 G6 and 745 G6 will launch before the end of this month for a starting price of $1200 and $930, respectively. Expect raw CPU performance to be on par with the Intel Whiskey Lake Core i5-8265U or Core i7-8565U as found on most Ultrabooks.
