The ProDesk 400 G5 and 600 G5 Desktop Mini PCs can be equipped with Intel's gen 9 CPUs up to i9-9900T coupled with up to 64 GB of DDR4-2666 (32 GB max for the 600 G5 model) and a SATA SDD / HDD + NVMe SSD storage combo. The chassis size allows these models to be easily mounted on monitor backs.

HP will be updating its entire line of ProDesk business-oriented PCs with Intel’s gen 9 CPUs this month. The most affordable and compact models of the series are the 400 G5 and 600 G5 Desktop Mini, which already come with Athlon and Ryzen Pro embedded solutions.

Unfortunately, the full specs are not yet known. From the information and the pictures provided on the official site, it looks like the ProDesk 400 G5 will support up to 64 GB of DDR-2666, while the ProDesk 600 G5 will be limited to no more than 32 GB of RAM. Both models are likely to support CPUs up to Intel Core i9-9900T and users may add a SATA HDD/SSD plus an NVMe M.2 SDD. The chassis on both models measures 6.97 x 1.35 x 6.88 inches, which makes it ideal to attach on the back of monitors like the HP Mini-in-One. Additionally, the models support external 100W power delivery through USB-C.

On the connectivity side, the port selection includes 3x USB-A 3.1 , 1x USB-C 3.1, 2x USB-A 2.0, audio out / mic in, 1x GbE with WiFi support,  and 1x HDMI plus 2x DisplayPort video outs.

According to Liliputing, the ProDesk 400 G5 will have a starting price of US$579, whereas the ProDesk 600 G5 will be US$100 more expensive due to additional security and single cable connectivity features.
