The hand-sized Cubi 5 mini PCs from MSI now come with Intel's 10th gen Comet Lake CPUs up to a Core i7 U-series. This can be coupled with up to 64 GB of DDR4-2666 RAM and a storage solution that combines an M.2 NVMe SSD with a 2.5-inch SATA SSD/HDD.

MSI recently announced that its Cubi mini PC lineup is getting refreshed with Intel’s 10th gen Comet Lake CPUs. The company does not specifically name the CPU options, it just mentions that users can opt to add up to a Core i7 U-series CPU, so it is unclear if options top off with the i7-10710U hexa-core model or just the i7-10510U quad-core.

The hand-sized Cubi 5 mini PCs measure only 4.88 X 4.88 X 2.11 inch and weighs 1.21 lbs, but they pack quite a few powerful features. Users can add an M.2 NVMe SSD along with a 2.5-inch SATA SDD/HDD and the RAM limit is 64 GB via two memory slots that support DDR4-2666 modules. Given that the enclosure is so small, there is not much room for even the smallest discrete GPU card, so the system relies on the UHD Graphics GPU integrated in the CPU.

Other features include:

  • Choice between the Intel Wireless AC 9462 or Intel Wireless AX201 adapters
  • Intel WGI219V GbE NIC with jack
  • External 65 W PSU
  • Port selection: 1x USB-C 3.2, 3x USB-A 3.2, 2x USB-A 2.0, Mic-in + headphone-out audio connectors, DisplayPort 1.2 + HDMI 1.4 video outputs
  • VESA mount kit to attach the mini PC on the back of a monitor
