The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro already undercut the competition in terms of pricing, with the US$599 Pixel 6, in particular, being an excellent value option. Buyers of the Pixel 6 series have more to gain in a potential repair situation, too, as the displays of the phones cost significantly less than rival models from Samsung and Apple.

While Google's Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro may not be the most popular premium phones on the market, they offer excellent value for the money both in terms of purchase costs, and, as it appears, repair prices. Going by prices on iFixit, the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro appear to be some of the cheapest premium phones on the market with respect to repair costs. Both phones undercut the competition significantly, parts price-wise, sometimes even costing just 50% of what parts of similarly positioned devices do.

Display repairs are likely the most popular repair cases for smartphones and the Pixel 6 series somehow manages to have considerably cheaper display panels than the competition. The Pixel 6 Pro's display, for example, costs US$199. The Pixel 6 with its 90 Hz display is even cheaper at US$126.

Comparatively, the iPhone 13 Pro Max's panel costs twice that at US$399, the iPhone 13 Pro is priced at US$349, and the vanilla iPhone 13 at US$329. In the US, Apple officially charges US$329, US$279, and US$279 respectively to repair the screens of those three models. While iFixit doesn't list Galaxy S22 series display prices, the displays of all three Galaxy S21 models cost US$299 each.

It's important to note that iFixit claims the panels for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are genuine. That's no surprise, as Google and iFixit entered a repair partnership earlier this year. Conclusively, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are cheaper than the competition both at the purchase point and in a display repair situation. It may not be much in the grand scheme but is a solid point in favor of Google's premium phones, despite their flaws.
