Google Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and possibly Pixel Watch pre-order and launch dates leak
Jon Prosser and FrontPageTech claim to have received information about Google's plan for launching the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, its next flagship smartphones. To recap, Google unveiled the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in May at Google I/O 2022, along with a host of other products. Another device was the Pixel Watch, which would Google announced would arrive in the autumn alongside the Pixel 7 series.
In other words, the dates put forward by Prosser and FrontPageTech should also apply to the Pixel Watch. Purportedly, Google plans to open pre-orders on October 6, nearly three weeks earlier than the anniversary of the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro's announcement. While Google revealed the Pixel 4 and Pixel 6 series in mid-October, all other flagship Pixel smartphone releases occurred in late September or early October.
Prosser theorises that Google will also present the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro on October 6 too. However, it seems that this is speculation and not information that he has received from his 'very reputable sources'. Prosser adds that both smartphones should start shipping on October 13, presumably a global launch date. Based on previous Pixel hardware launch events, we suspect October 6 will be when Google introduces stable Android 13 builds as well, at least for Pixel devices. While Prosser believes that both dates are accurate at this point, he includes the caveat of that 'Google does have a history of moving the dates at times'. Hence, these dates could change between now and early October.
