The new Comet Lake-H high-end processor Intel Core i7-10875H has been tested on Geekbench as part of a Gigabyte Aero 15 XB laptop. The results left the Comet Lake chip behind the scores achieved by the Coffee Lake i9-9980HK found in the powerful Acer ConceptD 9 Pro, and the AMD Ryzen 7 4800H in HP’s Pavilion 24 grabbed a much higher multi-core score.
Daniel R Deakin,

The Intel Core i7-10875H is a new mobile processor that has 8 cores, 16 threads, and a TDP of 45 W. The Comet Lake chip was found being tested on Geekbench 5.1 by _rogame as part of a system labeled “Gigabyte Aero 15 Studio XB”. The Gigabyte Aero 15 XB laptop is one of the first devices to feature the i7-10875H, and it also comes with Nvidia’s new GeForce RTX 2070 Super Mobile GPU. The Geekbench 5.1 results were 1,292 points in the single-core test and 7,447 points in the multi-core test.

As can be seen in the table below, the Intel Core i7-10875H in the Gigabyte laptop couldn’t surpass the scores produced by the Intel Core i9-9980HK that is at the heart of the pricey Acer ConceptD 9 Pro. However, the differences aren’t massive and both have strong single-core scores. The Coffee Lake chip can be overclocked and has a default TDP of 45 W. The new Comet Lake processor has the same default TDP but can be configured downwards to 35 W, which will reduce the performance.

In comparison with the competition, the Geekbench results aren’t particularly surprising. The AMD Ryzen 7 4800H found in the HP Pavilion 24 AiO PC defeats the Gigabyte laptop’s i7-10875H in the multi-core run, but the Intel part is stronger in the single-core benchmark. It seems the Comet Lake processor can do much better as part of a different system though, as we recently reported about a Geekbench record that offered much higher results.

The Renoir APU has the highest base clock out of the three processors mentioned (2.9 GHz) whereas the i7-10875H, which has a base clock of 2.3 GHz, can boost to up to 5.1 GHz (single core). Intel has published a recommended customer price of US$450 for the Core i7-10875H.
