Geekom GeekBook M16 Review: A great value pick with a huge battery and Core Ultra 9

With the GeekBook M16, Geekom is expanding its laptop lineup with a 16-inch model designed to impress primarily with its exceptionally long battery life. At its heart is a 99.99-Wh battery—the maximum allowed capacity for many flights—which helped the notebook achieve outstanding battery life in our tests. Combined with the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, the device is aimed at users looking for a long-lasting workhorse for office tasks, multimedia, and mobile work. Another plus is the attractive price. The GeekBook M16 retails for $899, making it an attractive option in the sub-$1,000 segment. Considering its 99.99 Wh battery, Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and well-rounded feature set, the notebook delivers a compelling price-to-performance ratio.

The GeekBook M16 features a high-quality aluminum chassis with narrow display bezels and feels sturdy. The 16-inch panel in a 16:10 aspect ratio has a resolution of 1,920 × 1,200 pixels and provides a comfortable workspace. The 300 cd/m² specified by the manufacturer is achieved with near-perfect accuracy. For outdoor use, however, the display could be a bit brighter. Positive features include the absence of PWM and the significantly improved color accuracy following manual calibration.

The laptop is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H with integrated Intel Arc Graphics. In everyday use, this combination delivers smooth system performance and consistent results under sustained load. In a direct comparison, the CPU lags slightly behind the average of other devices with the same processor, but this causes virtually no limitations in daily use. The integrated graphics unit is suitable for multimedia, creative applications, and occasional gaming. An external graphics card can also be connected via USB4 if needed.

The built-in Kingston SSD with 512 GB of storage wasn’t entirely convincing. While programs and Windows start up quickly, transfer rates drop significantly under prolonged sustained load. On the positive side, however, the additional M.2-2230 slot stands out, allowing for storage expansion.

The cooling system also makes a good impression. Even under load, the GeekBook M16 remains comparatively quiet, with a maximum noise level of around 42 dB(A). Combined with the high-quality build, good features, and excellent battery life, this results in a well-rounded package. Given its attractive price of well under $1,000, the GeekBook M16 ranks among the most interesting 16-inch laptops in its class.
