GeekBook X14 Pro: Ultra-light 14-inch OLED laptop from Geekom reviewed with Core Ultra 9

Geekom is entering the notebook market for the first time with the GeekBook X14 Pro. The manufacturer, previously known primarily for mini PCs, is expanding its portfolio with an ultra-light 14-inch ultrabook that is clearly positioned in the premium segment. Our recent review clarifies how the debut model performs in everyday use and whether Geekom can also convince in the laptop sector.
The GeekBook X14 Pro has a particularly lightweight magnesium casing and weighs around one kilogram. The device is therefore clearly aimed at mobile users who are looking for a powerful yet portable work device. Visually, the notebook is sleek and modern, and the workmanship leaves a high-quality impression in the test.
One of the highlights is the 2.8K OLED display with 120 Hz. It offers vibrant colors, high contrasts, and excellent sharpness, which is impressive both when working and consuming media. Thanks to OLED technology, users also benefit from deep black levels without annoying halos.
The test device is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H supported by 32 GB LPDDR5 RAM and a fast PCIe 4.0 SSD with 2 TB of storage space. The notebook works smoothly and responsively in everyday use, and even multitasking or more demanding applications are no problem. Nevertheless, the SoC falls short of expectations overall, which is mainly due to the limited use of the turbo clock rates. The integrated Intel Arc Graphics also delivers solid 3D performance for creative tasks. However, the iGPU's performance is too weak for demanding 3D games.
The GeekBook X14 Pro is modern in terms of equipment: 2 × USB4 with high bandwidth, classic USB-A ports, HDMI, and fast WLAN are all on board. The battery life is solid and enables several hours of mobile working.
Geekom offers its 14-Noteboom in two options. The top model is based on the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H (at Amazon for $1,248), while the cheaper model is based on an Intel Core Ultra 5 125H (at Amazon for $999).
Whether Geekom's first notebook is convincing overall and where possible weaknesses lie can be seen in our detailed review.
