Garmin pushes new battery life preservation feature to Venu 2, Venu 2 Plus and Venu 2S via latest beta update
Garmin has issued a new update to the Venu 2, Venu 2 Plus and Venu 2S, building off Beta Version 15.10. For context, Beta Version 15.12 is the third beta build that Garmin has released for the Venu 2 series after Beta Versions 15.08 and 15.10. Incidentally, Beta Version 15.12 for the Venu 2 series contains many of the same changes that Garmin included in Public Beta 2.51 for the Venu Sq 2, covered separately.
As such, Garmin has added the Gaming activity, a feature that can now be found across most of its modern smartwatches. Additionally, the company claims to have addressed various Connect IQ bugs, albeit without providing specifics. Moreover, the company adds that it has improved its Connect IQ service, again in unspecified areas. Elsewhere, Garmin has restored Pickleball and Tennis activities, which it removed from earlier builds.
Finally, the changelog contains a change designed to 'help preserve battery life throughout the lifespan of the product'. For some reason, Garmin has not clarified what this change entails nor whether it is possible to disable it. Garmin is distributing Beta Version 15.12 through its Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM) service. Thus, it should arrive on enrolled Venu 2 series smartwatches within the next day or so. Please see Garmin's forum post for more details.
