Garmin has released a new update to one of its thinnest smartwatches. Available globally, the firmware contains over a dozen fixes that should improve the overall user experience in multiple areas.

Garmin has released a new update for the Venu X1 (curr. $699 on Amazon). To recap, the company started 2026 by updating its ultra-thin smartwatch with a new colour option. Sold as Soft Gold with Titanium Caseback, the new version also contains a French Grey nylon band and brings the total number of Venu X1 colours to three.

Since then, Garmin has furnished the Venu X1 with numerous beta and stable updates. For instance, the company issued Beta 18.19 at the end of July with alleged battery life improvements. Now, it has transitioned beta development to Beta 18.23, the fourth v18.xx firmware released so far, starting with Beta 18.12 in early July.

In a forum post, Garmin clarifies that Beta 18.23 makes 15 changes from Beta 18.19. Of those, 2 are dedicated to improving the recent "Ok, Garmin" voice controls feature. Additionally, Beta 18.23 is said to refine Morning and Evening Report functionality while also fixing numerous other issues that caused device resets on older builds. The full changelog between Beta 18.19 and Beta 18.23 is as follows:
