Xiaomi Poco F9 Pro launching globally with larger battery than Poco F8 Pro

Xiaomi has just released the Redmi K100 Pro series in China. For the time being, we await confirmation of the company's global launch plans. Although Xiaomi has not offered any indications yet, the ever-reliable Kacper Skrzypek already suggests that Xiaomi will soon be replacing the Poco F8 Pro (curr. $472 on Amazon).
Writing on X, Skrzypek claims that Xiaomi has already added references to the Poco F9 Pro within HyperOS code. Reportedly, the Poco F9 Pro will serve as the global version of the Redmi K100 Pro, with the Redmi K series remaining exclusive to China. Based on previous generations, this should see the Poco F9 Pro launching with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and a 185 Hz display.
Unfortunately, Skrzypek's early evidence indicates that the Redmi K100 Pro's 8,580 mAh battery will not be making a global appearance. Instead, HyperOS code reflects the inclusion of a 6,330 mAh battery. While an improvement over the Poco F8 Pro, this new battery is a mere 120 mAh and 1.9% larger than the 6,210 mAh cell found in the Poco F8 Pro.
In previous years, Xiaomi has waited a year to update its Poco F series. However, a mere eight-month gap exists between the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F8 Pro. Hence, we would not be surprised to see the Poco F9 Pro lining up before the end of 2026.
