Xiaomi confirms Redmi K100 is coming alongside a new K-series flagship gaming phone

Xiaomi has announced the Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max, and the latter is reported to have recorded strong sales on its first day. However, unlike some brands which launch a phone with a pro moniker but don't release a non-pro model, Xiaomi does plan to release a standard Redmi K100 smartphone alongside a flagship gaming smartphone under the K series.
The information comes directly from Wei Siqi, the General Manager of Xiaomi China's marketing department, and was revealed on stage during the launch of the Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max. While no technical specifications of the standard Redmi K100 were revealed, it is expected to be cheaper, which means the specs will be watered down in comparison to its pro siblings.
In addition to the info revealed during the launch event, Redmi Product Manager, 笋寸(Bamboo Shoots) also reaffirmed on Weibo that there will be a Redmi K100 standard edition which will be released later, and one of its selling points will be its exceptionally long battery life.
The Weibo post also mentioned that the upcoming gaming smartphone under the Redmi K series line is technically a premium flagship and not just a gaming smartphone, as lots of effort went into its development. The post also hints that the gaming smartphone will be expensive and is for those who have a high budget for a smartphone.
No technical details have been provided, but we presume Redmi will want to take on the RedMagic 11S Pro, which is one of the top gaming smartphones on the market right now.
We expect more details of the new phones to show up in leaks in the near future and as their release dates draw close.
