Game developer confirms Steam Frame's launch is "just around the corner"

Fans are still waiting for Valve to reveal the release date and price of the Steam Frame. While the Steam Controller and Steam Machine are already available, Valve's upcoming VR headset has yet to launch. However, it looks like the wait may not be much longer.

The developer of Gunman Contracts, an action-movie-inspired shooter, has provided a small hint about when the Steam Frame could arrive. In an FAQ posted in the game’s official Discord server, the developer mentioned they have decided to launch the game alongside Valve's VR headset. While an exact date has not been announced, the developer said they are confident that the Steam Frame's launch is "just around the corner." 

Valve has also been making several preparations for the Steam Frame behind the scenes. The company recently introduced the "Great on Frame" category on Steam, which highlights games that are expected to work particularly well with the headset. The company has also received a total of 22 Steam Frame shipments in the past weeks, suggesting that it has already built up a healthy amount of stock ahead of launch. 

More recently, the headset received FCC certification, another important step before a new hardware product reaches the market. And with Gunman Contract’s developer now describing the launch as being "just around the corner," we can expect to see an official announcement from Valve soon.
