Steam Frame one step closer to launch as Valve adds “Great on Steam Frame” category to the Steam Store

Valve has already released the Steam Machine and Steam Controller, and many fans are now waiting for the company to reveal the release date and price of the Steam Frame. While Valve has not provided an official update about the VR headset, the company has been making preparations behind the scenes. And the latest sign suggests that the launch could be getting much closer.

Today, Valve added a dedicated “Great on Steam Frame” category to the Steam Store. This new section is designed to highlight games that are compatible with the Steam Frame, similar to the compatibility categories already used for the Steam Deck and Steam Machine.

At the moment, four games and apps appear in the new category: Portal 2, Into Black, Aperture Hand Lab, and The Lab. Although the list is still small, the presence of a dedicated compatibility category indicates that Valve is actively preparing the Steam Store for the Steam Frame’s launch.

This update is important because Valve has already shown signs that it is preparing for the Steam Frame launch. The company has already begun assigning Steam Frame compatibility ratings to games, and it has also marked the Steam Frame Wireless Adapter as “released.” Together, these changes suggest that Valve is finalizing the ecosystem needed to support the hardware at launch.
