Valve receives another Steam Frame shipment as fans wait for a release date

While the Steam Controller and Steam Machine are already available, fans are still waiting for Valve's new VR headset, the Steam Frame, to officially hit the market. So far, the company has not revealed its release date or price, but it continues to make preparations behind the scenes, with new shipment records appearing on a regular basis.
According to recent shipping information, Valve received another Steam Frame shipment yesterday, on August 6. The latest shipment is listed as containing VR controller + HMD + VR controller accessory, suggesting that Valve is continuing to build up inventory ahead of launch.
For those wondering, the VR controller accessory could refer to the comfort kit that Valve is reportedly preparing for the headset. The kit will include an ergonomic top strap designed to make the Steam Frame more comfortable to wear during longer play sessions.
With this latest arrival, Valve has now received a total of 22 Steam Frame shipments, suggesting that the company has already built up a healthy amount of stock ahead of launch. While this does not confirm that the headset is ready for release, it is another sign that preparations are continuing behind the scenes.
That said, the launch appears close, as the list of Great on Frame compatible games has been steadily growing. On top of that, the headset recently received FCC certification, which is often one of the final steps before a product is officially released.
