Rockstar has been engaged in a legal battle with IWGB, representing the employees who were fired last October. The employees and the union are asking for support to help with the court case and the fired employees.

In the background of GTA 6’s massive popularity and rapidly approaching Netflix extended look, Rockstar and parent company Take-Two are still dealing with the union-busting case. You would expect former employees who were undeservedly let go to be campaigning for the demise of GTA 6, but that’s not the case.

The Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB) posted a YouTube short showing three of the former employees who worked on GTA 6 answering a prominent question from fans about boycotting the game. For reference, back in October of last year, Rockstar unceremoniously fired over 30 employees in what was said to be a case of union-busting. Those ex-employees, backed by the IWGB, have taken Rockstar to court and are seeking reparations.

In such a case, animosity and revenge would be the natural feelings for the ex-employees, but as they stand strong against Rockstar, they still want fans to buy and play GTA 6. “Don’t boycott GTA 6, win justice for the people who helped make it.” They want their years of hard work and dedication to be experienced by players, but at the same time, not let Rockstar off the hook.

In September, the IWGB will be going in for their final trial against Rockstar, where the judge will decide if their firing was unlawful. They have also asked fans to buy the ethically made T-shirts, with the proceeds going towards helping the fired workers and the legal case.
