You could get GTA 6 for 20% off with student discount

August 27 will bring an extended look at GTA 6 on Netflix and with that, Rockstar hopes to persuade those who have not pre-ordered yet or may not purchase the game on day one. Those who do want to pre-order, and are students, here’s an opportunity to get the game for cheaper than its MSRP, if you’re lucky.
Turns out, Target is offering a student discount through its Target Circle Students program, and that’s valid for the standard edition of GTA 6. Priced at $80, the 20% discount brings it down to $64 for Target Circle members, which is a free membership. The pre-order will include bonuses of Vintage Vice City Pack and a free month of GTA+. However, there’s a big caveat.
Of course, you would have to prove that you’re currently enrolled in a program by submitting a school-issued document. But, a couple of commenters in Wario64's post on X, who shared the deal in the first place, have stated that it doesn’t work and, at the time of publishing, the Target website is down with the notice, “Sorry for the wait. It's a little busier than we expected. Thanks for your patience!” Since the website won’t open, we couldn’t verify the deal so take the news with a huge grain of salt. Even the Target Circle Student application page is down.
The discussion below Wario64’s X post is not about the deal itself but about paying for a digital code. A lot of commenters state that they will not be purchasing the game because it is digital only. Some others have brought up the irony of student discounts for a game like GTA 6.
