A new indie title on Steam is currently running a "free-to-keep" offer - letting players grab it at no cost and keep it forever. The game in question is Cast & Spell, a multiplayer action PvP title where players sling spells in competitive duels or join up with friends in co-op missions. It launched in early access last month, but just received a 100% discount for a limited time. The offer runs until May 19, 19:00 UTC.
Cast & Spell has a unique elemental system where you combine different types of magic - like fire, lightning, stone, and water - to create powerful spells. It features both PvP and PvE modes, with a ranked system for competitive players and co-op missions where you face off against waves of monsters. Spell casting involves a 3-step input system, which makes each fight more tactical than button-mashing.
The game was released by indie developer Hosthood Studio and is still in early development. According to the devs, all core systems are functional, with planned updates including more content and customizations. Current reviews on Steam are mixed-to-positive, with many commending its spellcasting mechanics but stating that the multiplayer base is still small. Solo play and friend lobbies are available.
