You’ve probably heard of Red Dead Redemption 2 by now, even if you don’t game much. Rockstar’s massive open-world western, is now available on Steam at 75% off - bringing the price down to just $14.99. This matches its lowest price ever from nearly a month ago, and is part of a limited-time promotion running until June 2, 2025.
Released in late 2019, Red Dead Redemption 2 still holds up as one of the most expansive single-player experiences on PC. You play as Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang, navigating a changing America while balancing outlaws, federal agents, and personal loyalty. The campaign alone can stretch well over 50 hours, and that’s before you even touch Red Dead Online.
The PC version offers improved visuals over consoles, with support for HDR, high frame rates, and ultra-wide monitors. It also adds graphical features like improved reflections, denser grass and foliage, and more accurate shadows at all distances. System requirements are still a bit demanding - 150 GB of space and at least a GTX 770 or RX 280 - but the game scales reasonably across modern hardware.
Red Dead 2 has aged well, too. With over 725,000 reviews on Steam and a 91%+ positive rating, it holds its spot as a top-tier game in terms of both performance and story. And interestingly, it reached a peak of 99,993 concurrent players just a few months ago in February 2025, which is a rare and commendable feat for a five-year-old title.
If you’ve somehow skipped it until now or want to revisit it with mods and ultrawide support, now’s the time. The $14.99 deal is the best price it’s ever been, and it won’t last past June 2.
