The Poco M7 Pro 5G scored well in our review with its powerful hardware, at least for the entry-level phone's price range. At the time of writing, prices start at around $290, including at Amazon. The design looks modern and the camera quality of the front and rear cameras is surprisingly good. Decent photo quality is not a given at this price level.
Another highlight of the Poco M7 Pro 5G is the bright OLED panel, which, thanks to PWM dimming, reduces flickering at low brightness levels, making it more comfortable for the eyes during long screen times. The long battery life means that users don't have to frequently charge the smartphone.
Poco M7 Pro 5G conforms to the new EU regulations
Starting June 20, 2025, the EU will introduce new regulations for smartphone and tablet manufacturers that stipulate longer software update periods. This regulation aims to increase the sustainability and extend the lifespan of smart devices, allowing consumers to use their smartphones for longer. Manufacturers are therefore required to design their products so that they are supplied with at least five years of updates.
The Poco M7 Pro 5G is no exception here despite being an entry-level smartphone, as Xiaomi is already complying with the new EU regulations. With a strong update guarantee of up to six years, the Poco phone is positioned at a level that almost rivals the Samsung Galaxy A26 5G .
Why the Poco M7 Pro 5G doesn't quite match Samsung's software support and how the new European Union regulations may otherwise affect the Poco M7 Pro 5G can be found in our detailed review.
