It has been almost four years since Xiaomi debuted the Civi series, a line of smartphones with a focus on a thin and lightweight design that's targeted at a younger demographic. Now it is ready to announce the fifth generation Civi series which will include the Civi 5 Pro.
Xiaomi has announced that the Civi 5 Pro will launch this month, and ahead of the announcement, it has shared official images showing off the design of the phone and revealing a few details. For starters, the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro will be available in four colors when it launches. An official poster shows the phone in purple, peach, white, and black.
Like the Civi 4 Pro a.k.a. Xiaomi 14 Civi, the upcoming Civi will have three rear cameras housed in a circular camera island. There's a Leica branding on the back of the phone which means the phone will have Leica lenses like the previous generation.
According to Digital Chat Station, the primary rear camera on the Civi 5 Pro will have an f/1.63 aperture while the telephoto camera will have a focal length of 60mm, and the ultrawide angle camera will have an f/2.2 aperture and a 15mm focal length. It has also been revealed that the Civi 5 Pro will have a 50MP front-facing camera that replaces the 32MP camera of the Civi 4 Pro.
The Civi 5 Pro will launch in China first, but there's no info on a global launch yet. Last year's Civi 4 Pro eventually made it to India as the Xiaomi 14 Civi (available on Amazon.in for ₹30,999), so there's a chance the same might happen this year.
