Framework Laptop 13 Pro: Framework makes bold real life battery runtime claim
The Framework Laptop 13 Pro is a massive improvement over the original Framework Laptop 13 in almost all departments, and this includes battery life. Thanks to a large 74.5 Wh battery and the super energy-efficient Intel Panther Lake CPUs, the Framework Laptop 13 Pro lasted for over 19 hours in our WLAN test.
The original Framework Laptop 13 pales in comparison, as it clocked in at only 8 hours in our testing. The poor battery life result was due to the laptop’s smaller 61 Wh battery and the less efficient Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU.
Framework knows that the Laptop 13 Pro has outstanding battery life, and the company is taking every opportunity it can to advertise this. This time around, Framework claims that the Framework Laptop 13 Pro lasted for over 11 hours in a real-world Google Meet test.
Framework tested the Laptop 13 Pro unit in Google Meet running inside Edge. The display was set to 250 nits of brightness, corresponding to 65% of the maximum, while the refresh rate was capped at 60 Hz. The laptop was also restricted to the “Best Power Efficiency” power profile on Windows 11.
The latest test follows Framework’s Netflix 4K streaming, where the Laptop 13 Pro managed more than 20 hours of continuous playback.
In other words, whether burning the midnight oil or watching Netflix, you can rest assured that the Framework Laptop 13 will not disappoint. The only disappointment is that users of the original Framework Laptop 13 can’t simply slot in the 74.5 Wh battery of the Laptop 13 Pro in their machines. The Framework Laptop 13 needs a new keyboard deck to open the battery upgrade path.
