DJI has started teasing the release of a new device. Arriving January 15, the device may not be the Osmo Pocket 4 or Avata 360 that many were hoping would kick off the new year.

DJI has started teasing the release of a new device ahead of its full reveal on January 15. To recap, the company has long been rumoured to have developed the Avata 360 drone and possibly two successors to the Osmo Pocket 3 (curr. $520 on Amazon). Based on recent leaks, those three devices still look set to be released at some stage, although a recent ban will stop DJI from officially selling the Avata 360 in the US.

However, the focus of DJI's latest teaser appears to be something different altogether. As usual, DJI has refrained from providing specifics yet. Instead, the company has published a short video on its Weibo account, which we have embedded below. Additionally, it has shared a tag line that loosely translates as 'firmly in the main position' or 'firmly occupy the main seat'.

Currently, various leakers believe that DJI is preparing to update its Ronin camera stabiliser series with a fifth-generation model. To that end, various details about the Ronin 5 or RS 5 have emerged online in the last few months courtesy of separate leaks. Supposedly, the RS 5 will depart from existing fourth-generation models with improved battery life, which will be joined by refined composition and tracking capabilities. Potentially, the latter will play into the camera lens that is clearly visible throughout the video below.
