Earlier this month, YouTuber Photorabz claimed that DJI would not be launching the Osmo Pocket 4 in December as earlier rumours indicated. Instead, they reported that DJI had pushed the release of its next vlogging camera into January 2026, with the Osmo Pocket 3 staying on shelves a while longer (curr. $522 on Amazon).
As a result, it remained unclear whether the Osmo Pocket 4 or the rumoured Osmo Pocket 4 Pro would be available in the US, with DJI potentially being put off from releasing more products there after being banned from offering new drones going forward. At the time, Photorabz suggested that QC issues with related accessories were holding up the Osmo Pocket 4 from being released anywhere, let alone the US.
Now, a mysterious new Osmo-branded accessory has turned up at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the same country. Described as a wireless remote control, the FCC does not reveal any pictures of the unreleased accessory. Nonetheless, we can still glean a few details about the Osmo FrameTap ahead of time. For instance, the FCC's documentation outlines support for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, with the latter likely serving to simplify the pairing process.
Moreover, the regulatory body reports that the Osmo FrameTap has a modest 625 mAh battery. With a battery barely larger than many smartwatches, it seems that the Osmo FrameTap is on the small side. Also, its name alone hints that the Osmo FrameTap can optimise image framing without having to touch either the Osmo Pocket 4 or Osmo Pocket 4 Pro. Whether this accessory lands alongside the Osmo Pocket 4 or Osmo Pocket 4 Pro remains to be seen at this point.
