Leaker Igor Bogdanov has obtained fresh information about DJI's next professional camera gimbal release. To recap, the Ronin 5 or RS 5 appeared on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) almost three months ago in the US. Since then, DJI has launched numerous devices with the Avata 360 and Osmo Pocket 4 still to come.
Previously, the FCC indicated that the RS 5 contains almost a 60% larger battery than the RS 4 that surpasses the RS 4 Pro by over 10% too. According to Bogdanov, this larger battery correlates with a 15% battery life improvement. Moreover, DJI is said to have complemented this larger battery with upgraded charging capabilities that can fully recharge the RS 5 in an hour.
On top of that, the RS 5 is rumoured to utilise a Z-axis indicator to improve balancing while retaining a 3 kg load capacity. Allegedly, DJI has improved intelligent composition and tracking too; Bogdanov has not shared more details in this regard yet.
Launch details for the RS 5 remain unknown for now. The RS 4 Mini is nearing its first anniversary, though (curr. $355 on Amazon). Thus, we would not be surprised if the RS 5 debuted between late February and early April 2026.
