Edge of Memories gets official release date

Publisher Nacon and French developer Midgar Studio have locked in a release date for Edge of Memories. The anime-styled action JRPG launches November 5, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, with a 48-hour early access window opening November 3 for Deluxe Edition owners.
Studio's closure doesn't derail launch
The date lands under unusual circumstances. A French court ordered Midgar Studio into liquidation in July after Nacon failed to find a buyer for the small Montpellier-based studio, making Edge of Memories its final release. Nacon has since confirmed the launch plan is unaffected, opening pre-orders on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S alongside a new release date trailer at Tokyo Game Show 2026. Standard and Deluxe editions are priced at $39.99 and $49.99, respectively, with all pre-orders including a Legacy Costume pack.
Unreal Engine 5 combat, Nekaroo mounts, and a finale by Mitsuda
Built in Unreal Engine 5, Edge of Memories is set on the continent of Avaris in the world of Heryon. Players control Eline, an itinerant Soul Whisperer who gains the ability to control the Corrosion, a plague turning the region's fauna, flora, and people into grotesque abominations. She's joined by her mentor Ysoris and shaman prince Kanta as the trio fights to stop the Corrosion from consuming Avaris entirely.
Unlike the turn-based Edge of Eternity, Edge of Memories runs on real-time action combat built around rapid combo strings, companion skill swaps, and a rage-fuelled Berserker transformation. Players can also ride the Nekaroo, an agile feline mount, to reach terrain otherwise closed off on foot.
The game ships with full Japanese and English voice tracks, including several Japanese cast members known for roles in NieR Replicant, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and Frieren. Its adaptive soundtrack comes from composer Cédric Menendez, with vocals from Emi Evans (NieR: Automata) and a finale theme composed by Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Xenoblade Chronicles).
