Saudi Arabia’s first automaker unveils 1,111-hp EVs with massive 8K display

With EXOBOT, Saudi manufacturer Ceer is entering the auto industry with its own production vehicles – making it the country's first automaker, according to the company. Ceer is a joint venture between Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Foxconn. While Foxconn is contributing the electrical and electronic vehicle architecture, BMW is supporting the project with development and engineering services.
The initial lineup consists of a 5.26-meter-long sedan and a 5.02-meter-long SUV. Both models measure a substantial 2.10 meters in width and are designed to look deliberately futuristic with their angular styling while also incorporating elements of Saudi architecture. Among the most striking details are the nearly three-meter-long Shahin Wing Doors, which open upward. There is no conventional B-pillar, leaving plenty of space for getting in and out. High-strength materials are intended to provide the necessary body rigidity despite the absence of a B-pillar.
Up to 1,111 hp and 0 to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds
In its most powerful configuration, EXOBOT uses three electric motors, all-wheel drive and torque vectoring. Ceer quotes a combined output of 1,111 hp and 1,500 Nm of torque for both models. The sedan is said to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h. For the SUV, the corresponding figures are 2.4 seconds and 210 km/h. At launch, a slightly less powerful First Edition is initially expected to be offered. It also uses three motors and all-wheel drive but produces “only” 850 hp and 1,000 Nm. This should allow the sedan to reach 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and the SUV in 2.9 seconds.
Energy is supplied by a 112 kWh battery with an 800-volt architecture. Ceer quotes a range of up to 670 kilometers for the sedan and up to 560 kilometers for the SUV. However, it is unclear which testing cycle these manufacturer figures are based on. Charging from 10% to 80% is said to take less than 30 minutes. Ceer has not yet specified a maximum charging rate in kilowatts.
48-inch display with 8K resolution
Ceer is also opting for rather unusual dimensions inside the cabin. A curved 48-inch “Digital Horizon Display” with 8K resolution stretches across almost the entire width of the vehicle. It is complemented by a 10.4-inch touchscreen in the center console and an 8-inch display for rear-seat passengers.
However, the Saudi automaker apparently doesn't intend to abandon physical controls entirely. Gear selection, climate control and volume, among other functions, are expected to be operated using physical controls. Instead of a conventional steering wheel, there is a yoke combined with steer-by-wire steering – similar to Tesla's Cybertruck. This is said to reduce the maximum steering angle to just 160 degrees instead of around 400 degrees. Rear-wheel steering is also planned.
Market launch planned for early 2027
Production is set to take place at the Ceer Manufacturing Complex in King Abdullah Economic City. According to Reuters, sales are scheduled to begin in Saudi Arabia in early 2027. Additional markets in the region are expected to follow from 2028. The company has not yet announced pricing for the two luxury EVs. Ceer plans to offer a total of seven models by 2030. The two EXOBOT vehicles are expected to be followed by five models aimed more squarely at the mass market. Interestingly, the company does not intend to focus exclusively on electric vehicles in the long term: According to Reuters, plug-in hybrids and vehicles with internal combustion engines are also planned.
