There will be plenty of broken-hearted Dell XPS enthusiasts disappointed with the news that the almost legendary 32 GB variant of the XPS 15 9575 convertible is definitely “not happening.” We reported on the possibility of this model version back in May of last year, when it was believed the convertible with upgraded RAM would be available by the end of 2018.
A further report in July quoted Azor as saying that the 32 GB Dell XPS 15 9575 would finally rear its silver head in September. With the current high-end variant of the convertible offering 16 GB of integrated RAM, there were many potential purchasers who wanted to future-proof the device by getting hold of a 32 GB version. But when September came, the convertible was still a no-show.
Some further hope was initially offered, as a new potential timeline of “possibly Q1 though” was given. Users desperate to get their hands on a Dell XPS 15 9575 with a juicy 32 GB of RAM would have no problem waiting a couple of more months after all. However, it now seems all that waiting and hoping was in vain. If you still want 32 GB of RAM in your XPS 15, Dell can accommodate you with touchscreen and non-touchscreen models. Just don’t expect it to be a convertible.
