The Dell XPS 15 9575 convertible might be featuring the new Intel Core i7-8705G processor with Radeon Vega M discrete graphics on a single chip, but it also comes with something that some users consider to be a major design flaw — soldered memory. At this moment, the most powerful configuration only sports 16 GB of memory, which is definitely not enough for some content creators.
Now, the good news is that Frank Azor has just confirmed the arrival of a 32 GB XPS 15 9575 variant. Sadly, there is also a bad part, especially for those in a hurry: according to Alienware's co-founder, the new hardware setup will arrive in the last quarter of the year. The reason for this is that Dell is currently "waiting on the memory to become available," so it should be obvious that the 32 GB XPS 15 9575 will also come with non-upgradeable memory.
The four Dell XPS 15 9575 configurations available for purchase from Dell US right now start at US$1,299.99 (Intel Core i5-8305G, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB M.2 2280 SATA SSD), going up to US$2,049.99 (currently discounted from US$2,199.99) for the model with Intel Core i7-8705G, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB M.2 2280 PCIe SSD, 4K touchscreen display, and a black color option. The other two variants come with the same i5 and i7 processors mentioned above, 8 GB RAM, and a 256 GB PCIe SSD.
Are you one of those who purchased the Dell XPS 15 9575 already or one of those still waiting for more flexible hardware options? If you already got one, please share your thoughts with us in the comments section. If not, you might want to check the video review below.
