YouTuber Photorabz claims to received fresh information about the state of the Osmo Pocket 4. A long-awaited replacement for the Osmo Pocket 3 (curr. $500 on Amazon), the Osmo Pocket 4 was originally rumoured to be ready for a December global release. However, DJI's plans have seemingly grown more complicated, in particular thanks to the advent of the Osmo Pocket 4 Pro.
Based on recent rumours, the Osmo Pocket 4 Pro will be DJI's vlogging camera to feature dual cameras. Currently, this model is believed to leverage the 1/1.1-inch camera from the Osmo Action 6, which would give it a variable aperture to boot. Conversely, Photorabz now reports that disappointment could be in order when it comes to the camera hardware within the regular Osmo Pocket 4.
Discussed in the video below, the YouTuber asserts that the Osmo Pocket 4 will launch with a 1-inch style CMOS camera. If that sounds familiar, that is because DJI is expected to reuse the same 9.4 MP sensor already present in the Osmo Pocket 3. Whether an f/2.0 aperture and a 20 mm equivalent focal length returns remain to be seen, though. Nonetheless, the Osmo Pocket 4 should surpass its predecessor in other areas, not least improved battery life.
