@DealsDrone has shared more details about the DJI Action 3 on Twitter, having teased the action camera's release last month. As we discussed at the time, the leaker claimed that DJI would return to the Osmo Action's design for the Action 3, just a year after introducing a new form factor with the Action 2. Incidentally, screenshots and specifications for the GoPro Hero 11 Black and Hero 11 Black Mini have also recently leaked, which we have discussed separately.
As for the DJI Action 3, the photo above highlights that the camera has a large single lens, plus a front-facing display like the upcoming GoPro Hero 11 Black. Additionally, a teaser all but confirms that the Action 3 has a larger rear-facing display, another similarity it shares with the GoPro Hero 11 Black. Unfortunately, camera sensor details remain unknown at this stage.
However, @DealsDrone alleges that the Action 3 supports vertical shot, offers a magnetic quick-release design and is waterproof to 16 metres without needing a waterproof case. In comparison, the GoPro Hero 11 Black will only provide up to 10 metres of waterproofing. DJI will unveil the Action 3 on September 14, over a month earlier than when the Action 2 debuted. Undoubtedly, DJI is looking to steal a march on GoPro, which tends to refresh its action cameras annually during the middle of September too.
