DJI Osmo Action 3: Specifications and pricing confirmed for GoPro Hero 11 Black competitor
Last week, DJI confirmed the launch date for its next-generation action camera, following last October's release of the Action 2. While a hands-on photo had already hinted at what the Osmo Action 3 would look like, press renders have now surfaced on Twitter, courtesy of @konrad_it. Embedded below, the photos show the Osmo Action 3 with its Standard and Adventure Combo packs, as well as its waterproof case. According to @konrad_it, the latter will be optional and will retail for €59.99.
In comparison, @konrad_it and @DealsDrone claim that the Standard Combo bundle will cost €369, or US$329 in the US. Seemingly, DJI only includes a single battery with the Standard Combo bundle, along with a USB cable, a protective case and mounting solutions. Purportedly, the Adventure Combo will cost €100 more but will feature three batteries, a 1.5-metre extension rod, a multifunctional battery case and twin mounting brackets.
Additionally, DJI has started teasing Osmo Action 3 features on its global social media channels. So far, the company has outlined that its next Osmo Action camera will support up to 16 metres of waterproofing and will remain operable in temperatures as cold as -20°C (-4°F). Moreover, the camera will offer up to 160 minutes of recording time, although DJI caveats this claim by confirming that the result was achieved 'in a lab environment'.
Incidentally, apparent leaked packaging has surfaced online, detailing that the Osmo Action 3 will also be capable of recording videos in up to 4K at 120 FPS, among other features like dual touchscreens. DJI's September 14 launch should apply globally; presumably, pre-orders will commence on launch day. Undoubtedly, DJI is gunning for GoPro's market share with the Osmo Action 3, with GoPro now confirming that the Hero 11 Black will debut on September 14 too.
