Bose has broken its lengthy silence on the subject of new TWS accessories with the reveal of the second-gen QuietComfort Buds. They are rated for class-leading ANC with an Aware Mode, delivered via 4 mics in an earphone design refreshed to support prolonged wear in comfort. However, their high-end new specs come with a high-end new price.

Bose has been subdued in terms of new TWS earbuds to unleash for quite some time; however, no-one can accuse the brand of being low-key in these terms any more, coming hot on the heels of the latest Apple AirPods Pro in many ways with the QuietComfort Earbuds II.

The well-known name in audio products touts its latest QC-series accessories as having the best noise-cancelling properties in the world, partially thanks to their new build. Their ostensible rivals have stuck with their classic build; however, the QuietComfort Earbuds II have deviated from their predecessors for something of a hybrid design.

It sports much wider stems than normal, and are compatible with a selection of little bumpers ("stability bands") of different widths that act like outer ear fins in addition to the more usual ear canal-dwelling tips.

Accordingly, Bose is confident of leading the way in terms of noise isolation, given that it is are also augmented with proprietary CustomTune calibration in the Earbuds II that also adapts their sound output to the user's unique ear-canal structure.

The OEM also backs its new Earbuds to leverage the latest Bluetooth 5.3 wireless standard, with SBC and AAC codex support, for "music that hits as it should".

The QuietComfort Earbuds II have a USB type-C charging case, also finished in classic Bose "Triple" black or "Soapstone" white colorways, that confers a potentially underwhelming ~24 hours of battery life in total.

Nevertheless, they have been set at a price of US$299 - $50 more than the new AirPods Pro - on their release date of September 15, 2022.
