Boox unveils Poke 7 and Poke 7 Pro ereaders with a refreshed design

The Poke 7 series isn't supposed to launch until May 21, but Boox has decided to unveil the new ereaders a day early. The Poke 7 series includes the Poke 7 and the Poke 7 Pro. This is a change in the lineup considering the previous generation is made up of the Poke 6 and a cheaper Poke 6s.
The Poke 7 and Poke 7 Pro share several features and can even pass for the same device as they have an identical design. Both ereaders have a 6-inch monochrome display with a 300 ppi and an improved front light. The display is flush and is covered with tempered glass.
Boox says the two devices are powered by an unnamed Qualcomm octa-core processor. However, while the standard Poke 7 has 2GB of RAM, the Poke 7 Pro has 3GB of RAM. They both have 32GB of storage, and users can add up to 2TB more storage via the microSD card slot at the bottom.
The Poke 7 and the Poke 7 Pro ship with Android 11 out of the box, just like their predecessors. In addition to having the same 1,500mAh battery capacity, the Poke 7 and Poke 7 Pro have the same thickness (6.7mm) and weight (165g).
The Boox Poke 7 has a price tag of ¥1199 (~$176/€152) and it is available to buy in Blue, White, and Sand. The Poke 7 Pro costs more at ¥1399 (~$205/€177) and is available in White only. According to the product listings on the Boox website, those who order the Poke 7 and Poke 7 Pro will receive a free case and a stand. However, as at the time of writing, the listings don't have the prices stated above, but a placeholder one. Hopefully, the listings will be corrected when the devices are released on May 21.
