Blackview MP200 Mini PC review - Small desktop PC with Intel Core i5-11400H in an attractive case
Many buyers know Blackview more as a smartphone and tablet manufacturer, but at this point Blackview also includes several Mini PCs in its portfolio. There is now also the MP200, even though it isn't quite up to date anymore with its slightly aged Intel Core i5-11400H processor. But the performance is still sufficient to handle everyday tasks in most cases. More modern SoCs often deliver a better performance with a lower power consumption here. Yet the native 6-core processor with its 12 threads still turns out to be a good multi-talent for everyday work. The Intel Core i5-11400H is accompanied by 16 GB of working memory and a storage solution with a 512-GB capacity. Windows 11 Professional is preinstalled and included in the price. The Mini PC is currently offered on sale for 360 Euros (~$395), which is a fair price. In terms of the regular price, Blackview is asking for 540 Euros (~$593), which seems a bit ambitious in our opinion.
In this review, we compare the Blackview MP200 against some known competitors that we already examined in detail previously. You can find a list of the comparison devices for this review in the table below.

Blackview MP200 in Detail
Case - Attractive plastic housing
Visually, the Blackview MP200 is very attractive. Some golden accents loosen up the completely black case, providing it with high-quality looks. This impression is haptically confirmed by the comfortable soft-touch surfaces. However, the selection of materials is solely limited to plastic, with metal used only for the stand.
At a weight of 678 grams (~1.5 lb), the Blackview MP200 is the second heaviest device in our comparison. In addition, we also see significantly larger dimensions compared to other Mini PCs here.
Equipment - The simple standard
The Blackview MP200 doesn't offer anything exceptional in terms of the connection equipment. A total of five USB connections is sufficient, even though USB4 or Thunderbolt is not included. Displays can be connected via DisplayPort or HDMI, so together with the USB-C ports, you can connect up to three displays simultaneously.
Communication
As communication module in the MP200, Blackview uses the Wi-Fi 6 AX201 module from Intel, supporting only network connections in the 2.4 and 5-GHz frequency bands. The communication module also supports Bluetooth 5.2 connections. In the test, our test unit does fairly well, placing far ahead in our comparison. Wired connections are also possible using the RJ45 port, but you have to be content with Gbit speeds here as well.
We use our Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 test router for this test.
Accessories
The box includes all the important necessities such as the 120-Watt charger and the high-quality metal stand. An HDMI cable is also included with the Blackview.
Maintenance
The case of the Blackview MP200 can be opened with relative ease. The side cover is connected to the case with two screws at the bottom. After those have been removed, you can simply slide down the side cover to remove it. Inside, you will find the working memory and storage solution in form of the M.2 SSD. While it is equipped with only a single RAM module, you can add a second module later. In terms of the storage, the PC will also fit a second module in the 2.5-inch format in addition to the M.2 SSD. If you want to replace the WLAN module, the PC has to be disassembled further, but this is basically doable with some careful touch.
Performance - Intel Core i5-11400H offers 6 coves and 12 threads
The Blackview MP200 is based on the Intel Core i5-11400H, which provides a solid performance in everyday operation. As the integrated graphics unit, there is only an Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 with 16 EUs.
Test Conditions
We ran all the performance tests using the "Highest Performance" power profile. We did not modify the power consumption of the SoC, leaving the default BIOS settings. Other power profiles were only used for the power consumption and noise level measurements according to our test criteria.
Processor
The Blackview MP200 is based on the Intel Core i5-11400H. The SoC has six native computing cores and is able to process a total of twelve threads in parallel. Due to its six cores, the Blackview MP200 is able to keep up well with the Morefine M600. AMD's new Ryzen 5 6600U isn't much faster here and can even be surpassed in the single-core performance. This makes it clear that the Intel Core i5-11400H won't belong to the scrap heap for a long time and still delivers a solid performance.
The short-term power consumption (PL2) is specified at 65 watts, and during constant load (PL1) 45 watts can be consumed. While the Blackview MP600 is able to reach the PL2 value, it can only use it for a very short time. We don't see any problems with the Blackview MP200 running the processor with the PL1 value.

Blackview MP200 vs. Cinebench R15 Multi Loop
We use the Cinebench R15 constant loop test to get a first impression of the efficiency of the cooling system in combination with the power target of the SoC. We see here that the Blackview MP200 is unable to maintain the performance constant throughout. After the third run, the performance stabilizes at around 1,586 points.
System Performance
In the synthetic benchmarks, the Blackview MP200 seems to have some increasing difficulties asserting itself against the competitors. In the PCMark10 and Crossmark, our test unit slips to the middle of the field. In the RAM tests, it gets even harder, since having only a single 16-GB SO-DIMM module also corresponds to only half the storage bandwidth, which limits the system. However, we are still able to attest a good working speed subjectively in everyday operation.

DPC Latencies
In this test, the Blackview MP200 initially shows some good results. When opening several tabs in the Edge browser and playing our 4K test video, we don't see any critical latencies yet. Only when we start Prime95 do we see them increase slightly, but the latencies then don't increase further.

Storage Solution
Blackview has equipped the MP200 with a 512-GB NVMe SSD. The installed model uses the NVMe connection and offers fairly solid transfer rates. It is connected via the M.2 connection (PCIe 3.0 x4). However, this is only sufficient for a place in the middle of the field of competitors, even though the distance to first place is not far at only 10%. The PC allows you to insert a second storage module in the 2.5-inch format.
