The next-gen consoles have been famously hard to come by since their respective debuts. This situation may be coming to a head for many as they continue to source gifts for their end-of-year celebrations. To this end, Best Buy has released a statement announcing that it will re-list the PS5 (classic and digital editions) and new Xboxes as of tomorrow (December 15, 2020).
The units in question can only be ordered online, although this chain's contactless pick-up options (in which staff members will also bring completed orders to a customer's car) is also available in these cases. This might be a good idea in light of the reportedly overwhelming volume of visits to GameStop stores following this chain's own impromptu replenishment of the same consoles.
Best Buy's listings will be live again from 6:00 Pacific/8:00 Central time (or 15:00 CET) on December 15, 2020. Its 3-day sale is also starting on the same day, although there are no indications that the sought-after gaming hardware will be any less than regular price. This is US$300 for the Xbox Series S; $500 for the Series X; the same for the PS5 Digital Edition and $500 for the Classic Edition.
Finally, this new re-stocking alert seems to apply to the company's US store only, with no such word on renwed console availability in its Canadian outlets. Furthermore, it does not specifically mention whether bundled listings will also be back in stock, or if it applies to the standalone devices only.
