As promised, Ayaneo has now shared more information about its next Android gaming handheld. For context, the new details have arrived than 24 hours after the device's initial announcement. Nonetheless, Ayaneo has now confirmed hardware specifications that it elected against revealing yesterday.
Surprisingly, Ayaneo has not opted for the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 that it uses inside the Pocket S2 and the unreleased Gaming Pad. Instead, it has opted for the older Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 found in the older Pocket Ace, Pocket S, Pocket DMG and Pocket EVO (curr. $524.95 on Amazon). With that being said, the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 remains powerful enough to emulate up to the Nintendo Switch.
To complement this, Ayaneo has included LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage, as well as an 8,000 mAh battery to keep the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 ticking over. Moreover, the Pocket DS sports a 7-inch and 165 Hz OLED display with variable refresh support that outputs at 1080p with 800 nits peak brightness. Meanwhile, the bottom display is a 4:3 and 1,024 x 768-pixel LCD panel that measures 5-inches diagonally. Ayaneo will reveal more information about the Pocket DS early next month when it brings the gaming handheld to ChinaJoy 2025 in Shanghai.
