Asus is one of many manufacturers that have leveraged Samsung Display's latest QD-OLED panels across new gaming monitors. For context, others include Gigabyte, MSI and Samsung Electronics for the time being. However, we would be surprised if more gaming monitor manufacturers did not bring new examples to CES 2025 this week in Las Vegas.
To that end, Asus has now complemented the ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM that it showcased last week with a new member in its ROG Strix series. Specifically, it has shared details about the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDPG, which serves as a successor of sorts to last year's ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG (curr. $699.99 on Amazon). Thus, the XG27AQDPG still resolves at 1440p across its 27-inch surface, unlike the PG27UCDM.
While the XG27AQDPG matches the XG27ACDNG in terms of resolution, it surpasses it when it comes to refresh rate. Like the Aorus FO27Q5P, the XG27AQDPG peaks at 500 Hz, which it complements with 0.03 ms GtG response times, 99% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and 'up to 20% brighter' full panel brightness. Added to that, the XG27AQDPG also offers DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 connectivity with variable refresh rates (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) for the latter.
Moreover, Asus has integrated its OLED Care Pro software to minimise the risk of OLED burn in from occurring. To that end, OLED Care Pro can reduce taskbar brightness, monitor for persistent image boundaries and automatically adjust the display's overall brightness, among other features. Unfortunately, Asus has not confirmed pricing or availability yet.
