To conclude, the laptops come loaded with pretty interesting specifications. The ZenBook Pro 15 gives a stiff competition to MacBook Pro 15, though it features the similarly-inspired Touch Bar in select MacBook Pro models. The ZenBook S and ZenBook 13 are the ones that will face a stiff competition from the brands like Lenovo, HP, Acer and Dell.

Powerful long runner. The ZenBook 13 does not lack in power. ASUS has equipped the slim Ultrabook with a quad-core processor and a dedicated graphics card. Coupled with that is a quick SSD, long battery life and a good display. Nevertheless, the seemingly successful ZenBook draws some criticism.

The Asus ZenBook 13 UX331UA is a thin, light, budget-minded laptop with a spring in its step when it comes to everyday computing tasks, and it’s got all-day battery life to boot. Asus ZenBook 13 (2018) Review – Asus makes some of the most affordable lightweight laptops (often called ultra-portables), like the ZenBook UX410UA, a lightweight aluminium laptop. But it also competes directly with the likes of Apple, Dell and HP, and this latest model focuses on no-compromise performance with a quad-core eighth-generation Intel i5 processor and Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics card, all in a revamped case that’s just over half an inch thick, yet fits in a proper set of ports, a Windows Hello fingerprint reader, and stereo speakers that live up to their Harmon Kardon branding.

Asus Zenbook 13 UX331UN-90NB0GY1-M00230
The Asus Zenbook 13 UX331UN-90NB0GY1-M00230 is a lightweight, thin laptop. It is a fresh look at how bezel light and footprint friendly a laptop can be. In 2018 it's a rapid race to see which manufacturer can deliver a laptop with the least bezel. And Asus is competing around when it comes to the ZenBook series, with the late 2018 model sporting a 95 percent screen-to-body ratio. The new ZenBook 13 gives all the elegance and style user expect from a ZenBook and a whole lot more. With a stunning crystal-like finish and a sophisticated modern design that places it in a class of its own. This ultralight marvel is the thinnest laptop on the planet with a high-performance discrete graphics chip, giving it all the pixel-pushing horsepower user need for creativity and entertainment: editing videos, manipulating photos, or just enjoying their favorite movies and games. At its heart is the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i5 processor which can be boosted to 3.7 GHz when needed. It is paired with 8 GB of RAM, a discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics card. Fast storage is provided by a 256 GB SATA SSD. So whether users are creating mega-sized office documents, manipulating high-resolution photos, editing videos, or simply taking a break with the latest high-powered games, the ZenBook 13 will hardly keep anyone waiting In terms of connectivity, the ZenBook 13 isn't so ridiculously thin that it can't fit the goods in. In addition to two full-size USB ports, there's a USB-C, plus a separate charger - which is always handy rather than being forced to switch cables over when charging. There's even an HDMI, microSD card slot (not full size, boo) and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. According to Asus, the 13-inch model's battery should see it live for up to 14 hours per charge. A new feature for the 2018 ZenBook is apparent on its trackpad, too. It functions as a standard trackpad, sure, but hit the little button to the top right corner and it imposes a number pad savvily called NumberPad by Asus which can be used to quickly tap away numbers. The keyboard is no shabby effort either, with decent key depression and a soft backlight to help a user see those digits in the dark. Interestingly, the hinge design of the latest ZenBook also angles the laptop into a slightly angled and more comfortable position the more the clamshell is opened: so close it's perfectly flat, but angled back fully the keyboard sits in a more slanted, ergonomic position. As a conclusion, with the ZenBook 13, a user will always be ready to go anywhere. The ZenBook 13 is not just a superbly capable laptop, it's also a powerful style statement. Featuring lightweight build and decent hardware, it is built for users who are always working remotely. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

I can’t draw final conclusions on this Core i7 / MX150 configuration of the ZenBook UX333FN based on our sample, because the gaming performance is crucial in the whole equation and I can’t tell whether the final retail units will perform similarly to our test model or perhaps better. I can tell you that the performance is there, but whether or not it can last for longer gaming sessions remains to be elucidated in our future updates, once we hopefully get our hands on a final retail product. Till then, take our findings with a lump of salt.

The "ErgoLift" design is a visual delight as it allows for a strong lid with narrow bezels on all four sides of the screen. Nevertheless, some cut corners prevent the system from being a must-have against its competitors.

Yet another strong ZenBook device. ASUS has made two out of two with the 14-inch and now the 13-inch version of this laptop. It brings extreme versatility with a very good build quality basically at a fraction of the price of comparable Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2018) and even the MacBook Air (2018). Of course, ZenBook 13 UX333 is competing with some Windows laptops as well – the XPS 13 9370 for example, as well as HP’s EliteBook 830 G5.

The Asus ZenBook 13 is a classy Core i5 ultraportable that's priced aggressively. Even a slightly cramped keyboard can't keep it from an earnest recommendation.

Absolutely. The ZenBook 13 is an incredible laptop with superior design, a solid chassis, a great display, and the latest Intel processor. At Rs 88,990, Asus ZenBook 13 is a great laptop, and this is a fact. Sure, Dell XPS 13 is a great laptop too, but it is slightly expensive. The question is, which one to choose? I leave this answer to you.

The Asus ZenBook 13 proves to have an edge over most other Thin and Light laptops out there with its NVIDIA GeForce MX 150 dedicated graphics card but commands a premium for it. Still, it comes with all the right ports and a novel touchpad innovation we hope you like.

The Asus ZenBook 13 UX333FA shines thanks to a combination of speedy performance and an impressively long battery life. Not to mention, it's quite the beauty. However, its dim display is a trade-off, and we wish there was more spacing between the keys.

Absolutely. If you’re looking for a small, light notebook that has loads of battery life, then you shouldn’t look further than the UX333. We have our fair share of complaints like the lackluster brightness and the cramped keys but all things considered, those are very minor complaints in an otherwise excellent ultraportable.

This ZenBook 13 UX325JA is a competent portable everyday laptop, snappy with daily multitasking, video streaming, and Office apps, but not meant for more demanding loads. The lightweight all-metal construction, good screen options, and long battery life help its cause, corroborated with its aggressive pricing. For the first time, the ZenBook 13 is available with either an Intel or an AMD SoC. We already reviewed the AMD version (89%) that, unfortunately, still has poor availability, and now it's the Intel competitor's turn. Will the review reveal a clear decision in favor of one of the two manufacturers?

A very interesting trend is emerging. Some manufacturers revert back to slightly heavier laptops, in order to make them more competitive, while others – like ASUS, concentrate on making laptops as thin and light as possible. And it is quite successful in our opinion. Well, we said the same about Acer, who changes its Swift 5 to a fattier diet, making it gain 200 grams year on year. But sometimes, you need to go your own way, which may be completely different from the one of your competitors. Anyways, sitting at 1 kilo and 14.9mm, the Zenbook S 13 OLED (UM5302) establishes itself as one of the most portable laptops in its class. It has a surprisingly good performance and humongous rigidity, thanks to the magnesium-aluminum unibody. The battery life is also on point, with nearly 12 hours of Web browsing, or about 16 hours of video playback on a single charge. This can be contributed both to the large 67Wh battery and to the fantastic efficiency of the system. ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED (UM5302)’s OLED touchscreen panel has a high resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and fantastic pixel response times (despite the 60Hz refresh rate). It fully covers both the sRGB and the DCI-P3 color gamuts, while the software it comes with, features emulation for either of these color spaces. We are happy to see that the color accuracy, in this case, is great, and you can comfortably use your device for professional work. And if you are worried about the OLED technology’s affinity towards PWM usage in low brightness scenarios, you should remain calm. ASUS has a great technology, called “Flicker-Free Dimming”, which eliminates the issue with very little impact on color accuracy. Some miscellaneous features include the fingerprint reader, AI noise cancellation, MIL-STD-810H compliance, and Wi-Fi 6E support. The NumberPad never disappoints, and the touchscreen works great. And you can lay the display down flat to present your content to more people around you. Now, there are some things that we’d like to address. Unfortunately, the memory of this device is soldered to its motherboard. With a maximum of 16GB outside the box, you can’t really expect to be on the sharp edge of technology in the future. Also, you have no SD card reader, nor a regular-size USB port. Quite frankly, ASUS supplies a USB Type-C to Type-A dongle inside the box. If these disadvantages are not too big for you, go on, and get yourself a Zenbook S 13 OLED (UM5302). The feeling you get when using the laptop is amazing, while its more traditional design makes it a more comfortable for use machine than the Dell XPS 13 Plus 9320.

Aside from a full makeover, the use of Ryzen 6000 series processors makes the ZenBook S 13 OLED (UM5302) a really good premium ultrabook in the Philippines. It’s more affordable than the previous generation, yet you are getting much more value for money with the ZenBook S 13 OLED (UM5302). The performance of the Ryzen 6800U and Radeon 680M integrated GPU make the ZenBook S 13 OLED (UM5302) a true competitor against Apple’s MacBook Pro M2.

The Asus Zenbook S 13 OLED is just a superb little laptop. If you want something lighter than a MacBook Air with a wide color gamut display, good performance and battery life and a smattering of convenient features, it's an easy recommendation. Here's hoping Asus can get supply up so people can more easily find it.

The Zenbook S 13 OLED is a nicely configured premium 13-inch laptop for $1,300, making it a true value. It provides excellent performance for such a thin and light machine, it enjoys an excellent keyboard and touchpad, and its display is to die for. There’s little to complain about. Maybe the build could be just the tiniest bit stiffer, its battery life is average, and it’s missing Thunderbolt 4, but those are the laptop’s only weaknesses. If you’re in the market for a 13-inch machine, the Zenbook S 13 OLED should be on your shortlist.

The ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED is a fantastic thin and light notebook. The system is understated and attractive, it offers high performance across a variety of workloads, thanks to its Zen 3+ processor cores, RDNA 2-based graphics engine, and fast RAM and storage, and its display and input devices are top-notch. On top of the strong performance and highly portable form factor, the ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED also features an excellent, stand-out 2.8K OLED display (with touch), the latest complement of IO and connectivity, including Wi-Fi 6E and USB 4, and battery life is phenomenal. If you’re shopping for a highly-portable, thin and light notebook, in the 13” category, the Ryzen 6000U-powered ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED has it all. The only quibble we have with the ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED is the lack of any additional ports beyond its trio of USB-C ports. That year’s model had a similar form factor, but also packed in a microSD card reader, a USB-A port, and an HDMI port. In terms of the platform, getting an 8-core / 16-thread Ryzen 7 6800U CPU with fast integrated RDNA 2 graphics in this form factor is great

Intel Kaby Lake Refresh:
i5-8550U: Kaby-Lake-Refresh based low power quad-core processor. The four cores are clocked between 1.8 and 4 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading. The integrated GPU is clocked between 300 and 1,150 MHz. The SoC is manufactured in a 14nm+ FinFET process.
i5-8250U: Kaby-Lake-Refresh based low power quad-core processor. The four cores are clocked between 1.6 and 3.4 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading. The integrated GPU is clocked between 300 and 1,100 MHz. The SoC is manufactured in a 14nm+ FinFET process.
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
