Asus last offered the VivoBook Pro 15 back in 2022 while offering the VivoBook Pro 16 and VivoBook Pro 16X in 2023. Today, at CES 2024, the VivoBook Pro 15 is making a comeback with Intel Meteor Lake and improved OLED displays.
This year, it looks like Asus is merging the Pro and Pro X under a single Pro moniker. The VivoBook Pro 15 (N6506) offers CPU options up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H Meteor Lake processor and GPUs up to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU with a dedicated MUX switch. Asus says that its IceCool Pro cooling enables a combined 125 W power utilization from the CPU and GPU under stress.
The VivoBook Pro 15 can be configured with up to 24 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM an up to a 2 TB NVMe SSD. This implies that 8 GB comes soldered on the board with only one SO-DIMM available for memory expansion. Asus equips the laptop with a 3K 120 Hz Asus Lumina OLED panel. The company doesn't specify the display parameters but claims a 0.2 ms response time.
Similar to the VivoBook Pro X models, the new VivoBook Pro 15 sports the Asus DialPad for easy control of creative apps. The DialPad currently supports Adobe Creative Cloud apps including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom Classic, Illustrator, and After Effects.
The VivoBook line has never shied from offering a decent port selection and the same is true with the new VivoBook Pro 15 as well. The laptop sports HDMI 2.1-out, a full-size SD card slot, Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, and 2x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports. A 5 MP webcam with 3D temporal noise reduction and adaptive brightness are also available.
Pricing and availability for the Asus VivoBook Pro 15 OLED N6506 is yet to be revealed.
