Roughly a month has passed since Asus listed four new ROG Strix and ROG Swift OLED gaming monitors on its global website. In summary, these were the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDPG, XG27ACDMS and XG34WCDG, plus the PG32UCDMR as the sole representative of the more premium ROG Swift OLED series.
At the time, the company had already indicated that the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDPG would be launching globally this summer for $899. Meanwhile, the ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDMR is still on track to arrive during the same period for $1,299, mirroring the older ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM. By contrast, it was unclear when the ROG Swift OLED XG27ACDMS or XG34WCDG would be available, let alone at what price.
However, the former has now landed on JD.com in China at comparatively attractive pricing. Sandwiched between the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG and XG27ACDNG (curr. $729 on Amazon) in terms of refresh rate, the XG27ACDMS complements its 280 Hz refresh rate with a 1440p native resolution and 0.03 ms GtG response times across a 27-inch QD-OLED panel. Also, the mid-sized panel delivers 250 nits full panel brightness of 1,000 nits in HDR mode across 3% of its panel area (3% APL).
Currently, the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG and XG27ACDNG can be picked up for as low as CNY 3,499 (~$488) and CNY 5,999 (~$836) in China, respectively. By contrast, the ROG Swift OLED XG27ACDMS has debuted for CNY 3,999 (~$557) with early discounts to circa CNY 3,400 (~$474) in some regions.
Ultimately, we doubt that Asus will charge quite as little for the XG27ACDMS outside China; for instance, the XG27AQDMG carries a $699 MSRP in the US. With that being said, the XG27ACDMS' launch pricing indicates that Asus intends to price the monitor aggressively in other markets. Unfortunately, it still remains unclear when the company's first 280 Hz QD-OLED will arrive in Europe, North America and beyond at this stage.
