Samsung is launching three new 4K monitors. Depending on the model, these are based on QD-OLED or VA panels and should be quite versatile. The M7, M8 and M9 also have some smart features and can be used like a regular TV, even without an external source.

Samsung is launching three new smart 4K monitors. The M9, M8, and M7 are listed under the product designations M90SF, M80F, and M70F and are already available for preorder at Samsung’s official online store. The M80F is priced at $699, while the high-end M90SF is offered for $1599. However, this model also comes with significantly better specifications.

For instance, the new flagship monitor in this series has a 165Hz refresh rate and utilizes a QD-OLED panel, which further promises a very low response time of 0.03 milliseconds and a higher dynamic range, while adequate cooling and other mechanisms should protect the OLED monitor from burn-in. The Samsung M9 also has various AI features that are supposed to improve picture quality. Thanks to G-Sync compatibility, the monitor can also be suitable for gaming.

Like full-fledged televisions, the M90SF supports numerous apps, such as Samsung TV Plus as well as the Samsung Gaming Hub. All three 4K monitors support Multi Control between Samsung devices and Multi View for displaying multiple sources at the same time. Samsung’s new monitors can also handle some productivity tasks without a connected device thanks to native Microsoft 365 (12-month subscription from $99 on Amazon) support. The two lower-end displays also feature the usual 4K resolution, but both sport a VA panel with lower contrasts. However, they do offer the same AI features that are advertised for the Samsung M90SF.
