Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro receives certification as launch nears
Asus released its gaming smartphone for the year, the ROG Phone 8 Pro, back in January. A direct successor is already in the works, it seems, with a new report now showing the ROG Phone 9 Pro with a certification listing in China.
As revealed by WhyLab, the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro appears to be on the way. The gaming phones smartphone has been certified at the China Quality Certification Centre with the model number "ASUSAI25001A". The ROG Phone 8 Pro (buy on Amazon) bears the model number "ASUSAI2401D", for example.
The listing reveals no key details of the ROG Phone 9 Pro outside of the aforementioned model number and its 65 W charging support. Fans of the series may consider that disappointing as Asus looks set to deliver the gaming phone with 65 W charging for the fifth generation, a trend that started with the ROG Phone 5 back in 2021. It's expected that the ROG Phone 9 Pro will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, and could launch at the very end of the year, or in January 2025.
