New indie shooter impresses with 99 percent positive reviews on Steam
I Am Your Beast was developed by Strange Scaffold and released on September 10 in collaboration with Frosty Pop. It is a fast-paced, action-packed first-person shooter that puts players in the role of former secret agent Alphonse Harding, who is asked to take on a mission for the last time after six years in retirement. When Harding declines the offer, it sparks a guerrilla war between him and a military organization known as the Covert Operations Initiative (COI). The conflict unfolds in the wilderness of North America.
As a so-called speedrun shooter, I Am Your Beast sends players into a series of sandbox levels. The aim is to find a way to efficiently eliminate all enemies and complete the level in the shortest possible time. This requires a tactical approach. For example, players can use hidden tunnel networks or other cover to avoid enemies or lure them into traps. Repetition is a central element of the game. It's about going through the levels again and again and finding the best possible route.
So far, the new shooter from Strange Scaffold and Frosty Pop seems to have been very well received by the gaming community. On Steam, the game has already collected over 500 reviews - 99 percent of them positive. Until September 24, I Am Your Beast is available on GOG at a 10% discount - for $19.22 instead of $21.36. However, the game is currently only available for PC. GOG specifies a playtime of 1.5 hours for the main story. However, if you want to complete the game in full, it should take up to 6 hours.
