Asus has opened pre-orders for the ROG Matrix RTX 5090 in the US. The company is charging a steep $3,999, which is almost twice as expensive as Nvidia sells the standard RTX 5090.
Asus’ price is higher than some brands charge for gaming PCs equipped with an RTX 5090. However, it is clear that the Taiwanese company is targeting collectors and enthusiasts gamers, given that it is a limited-edition product.
Extreme cooling and exclusive design
The new GPU's cooling system is in a class of its own. Asus added four fans, which it claims improve airflow and pressure by up to 20 percent. There is also a copper vapour chamber, a liquid-metal thermal compound, and a 3 oz copper Printed Circuit Board (PCB).
The ROG Matrix RTX 5090 also features Memory Defroster, Aura Sync RGB lighting, and GPU Tweak III. Other key specs include 32 GB of GDDR7 memory, 21,760 CUDA cores, and boost clocks up to 2,760 MHz.
Only 1,000 units will be shipped, meaning some will be snapped up by collectors. Each piece will include ROG accessories, such as 30th-anniversary playing cards.
