AMD might cancel the RX 9070 GRE before releasing the card, per a new leak from Moore's Law Is Dead. Like virtually every other GPU on the market, the possibly doomed Radeon board is a casualty of the current memory market that has seen prices rise astronomically over the past weeks.

The RAM/memory supply crunch currently plaguing the market is expected to have a negative effect on the price of consumer tech like smartphones, laptops, GPUs, and more. Even worse, we might even see Nvidia and AMD cancel their low-end/mid-range GPUs, where the GDDR memory makes up for a significant portion of the costs of the cards. It appears that the RX 9070 GRE might be among the casualties.

In a recent video detailing the causes and the expected effects of the RAM shortages, Moore’s Law Is Dead claims that AMD could push the RX 9070 GRE to the end of Q1 or Q2 due to memory shortages. However, there is a chance that the card could even be canceled outright. There is already uncertainty surrounding the launch of the GeForce RTX 50 Super series. So, the report of the possible RX 9070 GRE cancellation adds to the growing concern regarding the overall state of the GPU market.

To that end, MLID also advises gamers to buy GPUs right now. The GPU market is arguably in the best place that it has been in for the past few years. You can find almost every latest-generation card, save for the RTX 5090, at or near its MSRP. There are also plenty of cards that are retailing for less than their official price tags.

Latest GPU prices

Looking at the prices of some of the most in-demand GPUs, you can currently buy the following on Amazon:

With the ongoing and upcoming Black Friday promotions, you might be able to get these GPUs for considerably less than the prices mentioned here on retailers like Newegg.

Suffice to say, all things point to gaming GPUs getting more expensive in the coming months. So, take advantage of the current prices if you really need a graphics card.
