A previous rumour insinuated Nvidia would cancel its RTX 50 Super lineup outright due to the shortage of 3 GB GDDR7 modules. Noted leaker @Zed__Wang chimed in shortly after, stating the lineup has been pushed back and not canned outright. This is good news because the RTX 50 Super lineup is slated to bring a much-needed increase in VRAM.
The RTX 5070 Super, RTX 5070 Ti Super and RTX 5080 Super will now surface sometime in Q3 2026, nearly six months after their rumoured CES 2026 reveal. That puts it within spitting distance of the RTX 60 series, which is slated to show up a few months later at CES 2027, provided Nvidia keeps its two-year release schedule.
However, the memory shortage, combined with increased demand for AI computing power, might delay the RTX 60 series launch. The leaker opines that it could launch as late as 2028, although that is unlikely to be the case. Nvidia could announce the GPUs at CES 2026 and sell them a few months later if supply issues persist. Lastly, those looking to buy an RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB variant should do so soon, as the graphics card will soon be in short supply due to the aforementioned memory shortage.
