Anycubic Kobra X: 3D printer debuts with waste-saving design and limited-time discount

Anycubic, a company we’ve covered several times, recently launched the Kobra X. The 3D printer is now available for preorder at US$279 / €269, a significant discount from its MSRP of US$399 / €389. Shipping is expected to begin in April, so a little patience may be required.
The Kobra X supports printing with up to 19 filaments and can accommodate four filament spools out of the box. This enables not only multicolor prints but also the use of different filament types for a single model. The printer is engineered to minimize material usage when working with multiple filaments. To achieve this, the distance between the filament cutter and the nozzle has been shortened, since any material in this gap needs to be discarded during filament swaps. This design also helps reduce print times, with the benefit becoming more pronounced in projects requiring frequent filament changes.
The Anycubic Kobra X offers a build volume of 260 × 260 × 260 mm (10.2 × 10.2 × 10.2 in). Due to the printer’s open design, the build space isn’t temperature-controlled. However, the heated bed reaches up to 110°C (230°F), and the hotend can achieve 300°C (572°F). According to official specs, the device supports a maximum print speed of 600 mm/s, though Anycubic recommends staying around 300 mm/s. Additional features include a camera for failure detection and flow-dynamics calibration to help maintain print quality.
