Prusa has announced a new 3D printer called the Core One L as well as a limited-edition Signature Oak edition of the Core One. The former is a larger variant of the Core One with some improvements.

Prusa has unveiled a new larger 3D printer called the Core One L and a limited-edition variant of the existing Core One. The new printers were announced at an event in Prague and the reporters and content creators were given a 3D presentation within a 360-degree digital screen. The Core One L is essentially a larger Core One that doesn’t seem as massive on the outside compared to the Core One.

Based on the Core One, the larger variant is also a fully enclosed Core XY 3D printer. It has a build volume of 300 x 300 x 330 mm, which the company states is double that of the Core One, but within a chassis that is only 10% larger. The Core One L is a tad bit lighter than its smaller counterpart thanks to the use of lightweight aluminum.

What’s functionally new with the Core One L is the new heatbed that boasts uniform heating with a cast metal, precision-milled bed surface. Prusa claims the temperature variance is less than 2 degrees Celsius across 99% of the print area. The Core One L also creatively uses the bottom of the heatbed to actively heat the chamber. There are fans on the underside that create a forced convection effect.

Prusa also emphasizes that everything can be done offline and online connectivity is 100% optional. The Wi-Fi module can be physically removed as well.

As for the typical specifications, the Core One L comes with a high-flow brass CHT nozzle (0.4 mm) with a maximum temperature of 290 degrees C. The haetbed can go up to 120 degrees C while the chamber can reach 60 degrees C. There is a 3.5″ touch color display for controlling prints. There is also a 1080p camera with night vision for monitoring.

The Signature Oak Core One is a tribute to the generational friendship of the Prusa and Jelinek (master woodworkers) families since 1897. The 3D printer has an CNC oak chassis that has been treated with durable hardwax oil. Since it is a limited-edition Core One, there will only be 250 units and those interested will need to get a personal quote from Prusa.

Core One L, Signature Oak Core One pricing and availability

The Core One L is priced at $1,799 and will start shipping from November 7. The Signature Oak Core One does not have pricing available as of yet. For reference, the Core One is priced at $1,299 for the fully assembled version. The kit, however, is priced at $999.
